3 DAYS GORILLA TRACKING
Day 1
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre. From there you will board the boat to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary. At Ngamba Island , you will view the chimpanzees feeding from the visitor's plat form. Later transfer back to your Entebbe or your hotel in Kampala for dinner and over night.
Day 2
Drive Northwards via Luweero to Masindi. On arrival at the River Nile, you will go for ferry crossing if your accommodation is across the river or to go and visit the mighty top of falls. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge / Nile safari Camp/ Sambiya River Lodge / Red Chillis camp.
Day 3
This morning welcomes you with a sun rise game drive that will take you around to search for Giraffes, lions, leopards, Impalas, Topis, Bushbucks, water bucks, and many bird species like the world's most sought for bird the shoe bill stock. Return to the lodge for mid morning break fast and then take lunch. Go for an afternoon launch cruise along the river Nile which will expose you to schools of Hippos, crocodiles, and many water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4
Drive via Hoima through the verdant country side of the Albertine escarpment , take a stop over for lunch and proceed to Fort portal .This long drive is rewarding with beautiful panoramas of the western rift valley. Dinner and overnight at Ndali lodge / Primates lodge / Rwenzori View guest house/ Sky tree house.
Day 5
Drive to Kibale National park for Chimpanzee tracking. You will assemble at Kanyankyu River Camp at 0800 hours for briefing before you take course in the search for Chimpanzees in this tropical rain forest. The walk is the most popular primates searching walk that exposes you to a variety of primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue cheeked mangabeys, and many plant species. .Take lunch and in the afternoon, visit Bigodi eco-tourism site for a nature walks that exposes you to a number or bird, flora and butterfly species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Drive to Semuliki National park . Visit the Batwa and then Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park , game drive on the way to Mweya safari Lodge/jacana safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.
Day 7
Early morning game drive along Kasenyi track and queen's miles exposes you to elephants, herds of buffaloes, waterbucks, the Uganda Kob and many bird species like the martial Eagle, African Jacana , papyrus gonolek, African Skimmer and many others. Return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast and lunch. Then after indulge in the launch cruise along the Kazinga channel which will expose you to a variety of bird species, hippos and crocodiles. In the evening, you will go for a walk to the bird hide out if your are interested to search for birds. Dinner and over night at your lodge.
Day 8
Early morning drive to kyabura gorge for forest walks to trek chimpanzees and other primates. Then drive through the Ishasha sector which is famous for tree climbing lions towards Bwindi national Park. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest camp/ L. Kitandara Tented Camp/ Buhoma View bandas.
Day 9
Gorilla trekking!! The high-light of the safari. The ranger guides will brief you on how your trekking will be in the forest. The time taken to track the gorillas is un predictable however, on encounter of a group of gorillas with their dominants the Silver backs, one can be forced to exclaim, it is a worthwhile! Dinner and overnight at Acadia cottages.
Day 10
Drive to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Take a boat ride around Lake Bunyonyi .Then in the after noon , you will drive to Lake Mburo via Mbarara, afternoon boat trip along the Lake Mburo . Dinner and over night at Mantana Tented camps/Muhingo Lodge/ Rwonyo Rest Camp.
Day 11
Wake up very early in the morning and go for an early morning game drive in search for Zebras and many other animals and later proceed to Kampala for a City tour/departure or an optional extended trip to Jinja for white water rafting...
End of safari.
