Day 1 – Entebbe / Kampala
On the arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Kampala for the overnight. The Lodge

Day 2 – Murchison Falls on the river Nile
Leave Kampala driving northwest towards Murchison Falls National Park. Stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk to see the rare rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi. Proceed to the Park, the largest protected area in Uganda. Stopover at the “Top of the Falls” to enjoy the marvelous falls from above. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Game Lodge.

Day 3 – The boat cruise on the river Nile
Today is a bit relaxed starting with a game drive to view and take photographs of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, if you are lucky the leopards, plus a variety of bird species.  Lunch at the lodge. Proceed for a boat cruise along the Nile to the bottom of the mighty Murchison falls. This is an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks and many water birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – On the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon

Transfer from Murchison Falls heading Southwest through the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Drive through Hoima and reach Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori, Lunch in fort portal town. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon Hotel or Ataco country resort. This day’s journey is long, as it takes an average of 8 hours.

Day 5 –Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the Pearl of Uganda

Take a early breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park, Game drive as you enter the park checking in by lunch time, and relax at 3pm go for the exciting boat  cruise along Kazinga channel. Evening Game drive.Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Hostel.

Day 6–Game drive and chimpanzees of Kyambura Gorge

Early morning, drive to Kyambura gorge for a forest walk to look for the habituated chimpanzees and other primates. This gorge is 16 km long on the Rift Valley and 100 meter deep. The rangers will provide you with a walking stick. After primate walk, drive to Savannah hotel located in the heart of Ishasha for lunch, Afternoon game drive in search for the tree climbing lions of Ishasha Sector. Dinner and overnight at Savannah Lodge or @the River lodge.

Day 7 –  Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Early breakfast before going on another game drive in search of tree climbing lions then proceed to Bwindi where you will arrive in time for a late lunch. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home of the rare mountain gorillas. Apart from gorillas, there are a wide variety of primates to see including the blue and red tailed monkeys. The forest itself is lush and green and there are streams running through it. Dinner and overnight stay Bwindi Gorilla Resort or Engagi Lodge or Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 8 – The encounter with mountains gorillas

Morning briefing from the rangers at 8.00 am before you enter the gorilla sanctuary. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 600. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. Return for dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi overland

Day 9 – Transfer to Rwanda Ruhengeri

Transfer to Rwanda, have lunch en-route and continue to Rwanda in Ruhengeri .Dinner and over night at Mt. View Gorilla lodge or Kinigi Guest house.

Day 10 – Mountain Gorilla tracking and Transfer to Gisenyi

Early morning you enter the gorilla sanctuary of Volcanoes National Park, the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding the five Virunga Volcanoes. It was here where biologist Dian Fossey worked until her death in 1985. The trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience. Ensure you bring with you enough water and the packed lunch. The time spent in the forest depends on the movements of the primates in their natural environment. After the activity you transfer to Kigali, Dinner and overnight at Iris Guesthouse.

Day 11 – City tour and departure
